Dropshipping in Untapped Markets | $3K/Day Targeting One Country

In this video, I talk about untapped markets for dropshipping and how I quickly added an extra $3k/day in sales for one of my brands by expanding to Germany.

Germany is just one example of an untapped market for dropshipping. These markets have less competition, mainly due to the language barrier (the majority dropshippers only focus on English speaking countries).

Here’s what I cover in the video: quick strategy overview, how to pick a market, the untapped markets with the most potential (in my opinion), and how set up & launch your store.

I also take you inside my ads manager to show you exactly how I launched the German store with Facebook ads using data from my existing store.

Why?

  • Less competition due to the language barrier
  • Can re-use “winning products” from the US
  • A lot of scaling potential if you pick the right market

Picking a Market (Requirements)

  • ePacket shipping or better
  • High GDP per capita, >$30k preferably (correlated with the amount of disposable income people have to spend buying products online)
  • Strong language barrier (the majority of the population isn’t fluent in English)
  • Large population (the larger, the more scaling potential)
  • The population uses the same social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, IG)

List of ePacket Countries

United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, United Kingdom, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Saudi Arabi, Turkey

Examples

  • Germany ($44.5k gdp per capita, language barrier, large population of 83 million)
  • France ($38.5k gdp per capita, language barrier, large population of 67 million)
  • Italy ($32k gdp per capita, language barrier, large population of 60 million)
  • Sweden ($53k gdp per capita, language barrier, population of 10 million)
  • Norway (massive $75.5k gdp per capita, language barrier, population of 5 million)
  • Etc…

Store & Ads Translation

  • Extremely important, the reason this works so well is the language barrier. If you write with flawless grammar, they will instantly trust the site a lot more
  • Setup & design the store in English
  • Hire a translator on UpWork or leverage your network, native speaker
  • Translate everything – store, ad copy, video script
  • Ideally, get a second person to proofread

Facebook Ads

  • The same strategy as I show in my videos but only focus on that one country
  • If you have previous LAAs from the same product with an international store, use those

Customer Service

  • Hire VAs that speak the language to handle requests, OR
  • Use google translate back & forth (not very professional but good enough to understand each other and serve customers)

*** Important Things That I Forgot to Mention in the Video

  • You should charge your customers in their local currency to increase trust. That is why the German store I showed in the video charges in Euro.
  • Ideally, you should get your brand domain name with the local extension (i.e. “.de” for Germany, “.fr” for France… etc)

  1. How about opening a store with an option on the left/right corner to change the language? Or do you do a seperate store 🙂

  2. Awesome content as always.A lot to learn from you.
    1) What payment gateway would you recommend to use when you have a store in the US currency but ship from the US and to epacket country from China?
2)What payment gateway would you recommend to use when you have a store in .it meaning in Italy and ship from China?
    3) And a personal question bro )) how did you stop your anxiety in beginning or who do you maintain you day productive and not boring

  3. Thank you Gabriel.

Question please, since you speak French, why didn’t you target France instead of Germany ?

  4. Thank you Gabriel.

My self Subrato Majumdar ( 48 now ) from India an don’t know even ABCD of this drop shipping online market. Since last 2 months i have reading the content and video from many of you who are successful. What i liked about you is very candid your attitude is .
I have an idea and wanted to share with you. Why don’t you partner with your student like choose 5 student ….teach them 1:1 on the 1 product launch….he or she will spend all the money like Shopify store / Apps / other work like video from Fiveer and FB ad running cost etc….under your guidance . The deal will be once student start making money…..he or she needs to transfer you ~10% of the income and this has to be done as per the agreement b/w you and student.

After 2 product launch student has to do own his own however of course with your sharp guidance.

Benefit to you – Today people like you is charging ~ $500 – 1000 for Digital course showing all the video’s and they don;t actually hand hold student. By doing this you will have life time commission from each of your student and that will actually much more than Vs the one time money which student give.

In my opinion this shall be a unique approach and you can build your company around this. If i get such opportunity to work under you and success , my promise that from India i will provide you many students as i will personally go their their university and tell them about this program.

Just think thru and get back.
